House Keeping Part 2

If you attended the first class of digimedia II, then you should already have a class blog set up. Your assignment for Fri. Aug 29th, is to send me an email with the following:

subject:
your full name [first + last]

content:
eraider name
blog url
Once I get all of these messages I will collate the blogs and link them onto this site. We will also soon have space on the server to submit larger assignments digitally and to distribute class resources.

In regards to your blog, by this Friday you should submit your first post. This post should include an image of your most recent research layout, plus any other concerns, comments or discussion points about the research or layouts. Both of these will be required by 12:00 pm Friday, Aug. 29th.

Also, it will be a course requirement to have certain resources in order to keep up with assignments and to stay competitive within the studio. We have already required you to obtain Form Z, which all should have by now. We also require you to have the Adobe Suite on your laptops. The programs we will be primarily focusing on are:

Adobe Illustrator
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Dreamweaver [not required but strongly recommended]
This being your third studio, many of you should already have these programs, if not then you should acquire them as soon as possible, either through the school, adobe, or by some other means.

House Keeping

3341:
This first week will be spent taking care of all the ground work needed to continue the rest of this semester. First, every student must download and install a copy of Form Z. This will be the primary modeling program to be used in both classes. You may find a student copy here.

Second, every student must set up their own blog. The look of this is completely up to the student but there are a few restraints. All content must pertain to either ARCH 3501 or 3341. Do not treat this as a personal journal, but rather as a studio journal. You may set up your blog with whatever service you are comfortable with but I highly suggest using blogger due to accessibility. You may set up your own blog here.

Welcome

This will be the class blog for both ARCH 3501 & 3341. This will be updated on a regular basis with news for the class, helpful resources and highlights of student work. This is intended to be an open forum for students to discuss and comment freely.
